A collar necklace in which a round medallion drop is added to a thick chain woven from rectangular links with rounded corners. The outer border of the medallion is framed by a geometric Greek key motif on a dark ground, while a mythological woman's face is worked in relief at its centre. The links of the chain are polished and full in build; the fastening is a lobster clasp. The design is entirely without stones.
